Customer is looking for someone whose primary skill is Kubernetes Platform Engineer, have in-depth understanding of K8 internals and troubleshoots K8 related issues independently.
Must Haves:
Through knowledge of Kubernetes cluster setup and installation , both (manually and via automation (IAC Terraform)
Understanding of each component and subcomponents involved in the orchestration
o Control plane components (API server , ETCD , scheduler , control managers (kube and cloud)) .
o Node components (kubelet , kube proxy . container runtime)
o DNS , Container resource monitoring (externally via splunk/Grafana) , Cluster level logging.
o Kubernetes objects (K8 object management , Object names / IDs , Labels & selectors , Name spaces , annotations , owners & dependents , Kubernetes API).
o Storage (Volumes , PV, PVC , EV , Storage classes , volume attribute classes , dynamic volume provisioning , storage capacity and non-specific volume limits , CSI volume cloning)
o Networking (Service , Ingress , ingress controllers , Gateway API , Endpoint slices , Network policies , Cluster IP allocation , DNS for services and Pods , service internal traffic policies)
o Security (Cloud native security , Pod security standards/admissions/policies , service accounts , controlling access to K8 API , RBAC , securing routes via certificates , Multitenancy , TLS certification management and rotation)
o Workload management (Deployment , Build , Replica set , Stateful Sets , Daemon Set , Jobs , Events , Cronjob , Replication controller , autoscaling / managing work loads)
o Policies (Limit ranges , resource quotas , Process ID limitations , Node resource managers)
o Configuration (Config Maps , secrets , resource managements of pods , containers and nodes , Cluster organization using kube config files)
o Scheduling and eviction (Pod assignment , scheduling framework , taints and tolerance, dynamic resource allocation , Pod priority , Eviction policies from node and api.)
o Cluster administration (Node pull up and shut down , compatibility of K8 control plane components , K8 proxies' configurations)
o Helm chart configuration and management
