The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wayfinding design and technical specifications, with a focus on enhancing the user experience in healthcare environments.Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project teams, including architects, interior designers, and project managers, to understand the wayfinding needs and technical requirements for healthcare projects.
- Develop detailed technical drawings and specifications for wayfinding signage, encompassing construction, mounting, and installation details.
- Coordinate with fabricators, contractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate manufacturing and installation of wayfinding signage.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate wayfinding needs and spatial considerations, ensuring technical aspects are aligned with design intent.
- Collaborate with ICAT specialists to integrate digital signage systems into wayfinding strategies, ensuring seamless communication and functionality.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce technical drawings and visual representations of wayfinding solutions.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological advancements in wayfinding signage construction, mounting, and digital integration.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of technical standards and specifications for wayfinding signage and digital systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technologists and team members.
- Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure technical requirements are met throughout the project's life cycle.
- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Wayfinding Technologist, with a focus on healthcare projects in Canada.
- Strong technical expertise in construction and mounting details of wayfinding signage, with a deep understanding of materials and fabrication methods.
- Knowledge of digital signage systems and their integration into wayfinding strategies, with the ability to collaborate with ICAT specialists effectively.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or Revit.
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and accessibility requirements relevant to healthcare environments.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to coordinate with fabricators, contractors, and suppliers to ensure quality execution of wayfinding signage.
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and LEED certification is a plus.
Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000 / Annually
