Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced CNC QA Inspector to join our client's quality control team. The CNC QA Inspector will be responsible for conducting first-off inspections, receiving inspections, in-process inspections, and pre-shipment inspections to ensure products meet quality standards. This role involves direct communication with our customer's QA team, completing various quality forms, and supporting the maintenance of the AS9100 Quality Management System.

Duties

  • Inspection: Perform first-off inspections, receiving inspections, in-process inspections, and pre-shipment inspections of products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Customer Communication: Manage and communicate with our customer's QA team by creating and completing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), 8D reports, and other quality documentation as required.
  • PPAP and FAI Reports: Complete Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection (FAI) reports accurately and promptly.
  • Gauge Maintenance: Utilize and maintain various gauges and measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, height and bore gauges) as required for inspections.
  • Material Inspection: Inspect incoming materials as per receiving inspection procedures and specifications.
  • Sorting: Sort products based on visual aids and inspection results, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Documentation: Complete necessary forms and paperwork, ensuring all inspection records are accurate and up to date.
  • AS9100 Compliance: Assist in the maintenance and auditing of the AS9100 Quality Management System to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Support: Perform all other tasks required to support both internal and external customers and maintain product quality.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a machine shop environment.
  • Post-secondary diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technologist or equivalent inspection experience.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Thorough understanding of company procedure manuals, Quality Management System (QMS) documents, and applicable industry standards.
  • Proficient in using measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
  • Experience in resolving conflicts and identifying root causes of product errors or discrepancies.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with operators, supervisors, and other team members as required.
  • Experience with the AS9100 Quality System is an asset.
