Reporting to the Mechanical Department Manager, the PlumberSteam Fitter is responsible for laying out, assembling, and installing various pipe systems, studying blueprints, measuring, cutting, and joining pipe sections, using testing equipment, and performing tasks like drilling, trimming, and filing related to retrofitting institutional, commercial and industrial buildings. This is a Union Position and hiring and compensation is as per the Collective Agreement.

• Able to read and understand complex instructions and drawings
• Able to do careful and precise work
• Able to do basic algebra, and geometry and apply principles of Hydronics
• Able to interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Able to estimate work and time required to do work
• Able to work on basic computer systems (MS, CRM, etc.)
• Good manual dexterity and precision
• Ability to work as a member of a team, a team leader, or as an individual contributor
• Ability to produce excellent welds in both quality and quantity

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Pipe Fitter/Steamfitter Journeyperson by Trade (Red Seal)Working at Heights certification
• Familiarity with HVAC systems installation is an asset
