Southern Irrigation is actively looking for a Full-Time Location Leader for our Kelowna location. The successful candidate should excel in a good work ethic, have good communication skills, and a positive attitude.
Job Title: Location Leader
Job purpose: Successfully operate a Southern Irrigation location by adhering to our company vision: Serve our customers and people better than any other business in Canada. The location leader achieves this by investing in exceptional people who care about our company and are focused on the success of our customers.
Reports to: Locations Leader
Key Result Areas
Score 80 or more on the locations scorecard in each of these categories:
Profitability: Sales and margins goals are achieved or exceeded, net profit and profit per employee growth year over year
Culture & Vision: Targets for atmosphere, reviews, and employee engagement within and across locations are achieved or exceeded
Staffing: A strong, long-term team is built and maintained where employees are developed to unlock their potential
Operations: Operating costs are justifiable, building and fleet are in good condition, SMaC is always achieved, receivablesare within accepted target
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure all aspects of business operate effectively (as per company SMAC recipes) through direct efforts or delegation, namely: shipping, warehousing, purchasing, inside sales, outside sales, counter sales, and administration
Make executive decisions, delegate responsibilities, and hold all staff accountable
Strategize and execute location growth, galvanizing staff to the same
Manage all human resources tasks: Hiring, onboarding, Coach and Connects, evaluations, staff goal setting and careerplans, training, discipline, terminations, and remuneration
Ensure all departments have useful meetings and are led by the appropriate person
Ensure all staff are a part of meetings where location and company information can be communicated, and they have an opportunity to provide feedback
Clearly communicate company goals and vision to staff: Galvanize staff around company vision, mission, and strategicplan
Leads and inspires staff to set and achieve individual goals that align with company objectives
Ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction, using whatever tools necessary to track customer activity, sales, and margin
Ensure Southern Irrigation is represented well at local tradeshows, industry events and networking events.
Communicate and report regularly to COO
Communicate up and down the chain of command, ensuring staff know and understand things that would be of benefit to their success and work satisfaction
Create and maintain meaningful relationships with staff members, create an environment of communication andfeedback, always keeping the pulse on staff cohesion, stresses, and complaints
Work on continuous self-improvement to minimize the effects of the law of the lid
Hire and develop potential future leaders to grow in the company, thinking about succession planning for all leadershiproles within the location and leaders for future locations
Set a strong example to all staff in core values, attributes of an A-Player, and Extreme Ownership
Attend monthly location leader meetings, annual corporate meetings, and leadership retreats
Guide and holds the locations culture committee accountable in building culture, being known in the community, and spending and tracking budgets
Do whatever it takes to make the company successful
