JOB SUMMARY:
Support the Game Director and the Lead Motion Designer's creative vision and follow each step of the game features choreography to enhance the players experiences. He will also be responsible for creating a wide variety of animations based on Logos, 2D/3D characters, promotional videos, and special effects to which he or she is assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Create special effects using After Effects software.
- Animates any elements in 2D or 3D in respect with specifications.
- Exports static graphics and animations to the programming and sound departments.
- Models different elements (characters, architecture, objects and others) for integration into graphic interfaces.
- Works on the design of promotional videos.
- Actively participates in brainstorming meetings and follows up on assigned projects from start to finish.
- Participates in the creation of game mechanics.
- Imports and creates animations an assets in Unity.
- Creates high-quality animations.
- Works in collaboration with the studio, the other Game Artists, and the Director.
- Coordinates features implementation with programmers, sound/music designers, game artists and mathematicians.
- Works with repository structure.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- College diploma (DEC) or University degree in Graphic Animation or equivalent or relevant experience in lieu.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in motion design, preferably in the gaming industry.
- High knowledge of and ability to work with After Effects software.
- High knowledge of and ability to work with Photoshop software.
- Good knowledge of 3DS Max or Maya, preferred.
- Good knowledge of Unity, preferred.
- Knowledge of the gaming industry, a plus.
- Demonstrated time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Ability to communicate in French, a plus.
- Strong communication skills, able to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to travel within North America.
