The Opportunity

General Bank of Canada is looking for multiple permanent, full-time Funding Coordinator Is to join the organization as a key contributor with the Banks Funding & Dealer Services team. Consistent with the growth trajectory of the Bank, this is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to contribute to building the Bank of the future with considerable potential for learning, growth, and advancement.

Reporting to the Team Lead, Funding & Dealer Services, the Funding Coordinator I is responsible for reviewing and processing retail auto loan documents. Key responsibilities include examining loan documentation, ensuring compliance, and funding loans. The Funding Coordinator I will also provide exceptional customer service to dealerships and support dealer inquiries and address issues via email or phone. A keen eye for detail and strong data entry skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to follow General Bank's processes, policies, and legislative compliance.

Responsibilities

Loan Processing & Administration

  • Review all loan documentation from dealerships to ensure compliance with GBC and Anti Money Laundering (AML) policies.
  • Maintain loan files by logging relevant loan data in the Banks systems, tracking accuracy of customer loan information, and adhering to guidelines.
  • Prepare and assist in the processing of all loans or loan cancellations so that records of documentation are maintained in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Review, enter, and fund loan files daily, ensuring adherence to the Banks loan workflows, processes, and procedures.
  • Identify inconsistent, insufficient, or irregular information in documentation or loan applications that could impact the Bank or the customer, and work with the team lead or manager to resolve these issues.

Dealer Services

  • Responsible for creating new manual registrations, lien amendments, renewals, and manual discharges.
  • Foster strong relationships with dealership personnel and financial institutions by providing courteous and professional customer service for all phone and email inquiries.
  • Resolve escalated issues raised by dealerships through research, clarifying questions and providing alternative solutions that comply with the Banks policies and procedures. Support GBC and First Canadian Representatives with inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Support the legal team with administration and conducting searches for liens, corporate, and land as required.

Administration

  • General administrative duties related to the upkeep of department.
  • Responsible for assisting the Manager and Team Leads with back-end tasks, daily AML reporting, and internal process audits related to Funding & Dealer Services.
  • Recommend improvements to policies and procedures to enhance the quickness and efficiency of departmental processes.
  • Actively participate in creating a culture of continuous improvement as it relates to the procedures, tasks to ensure we are focused on elevating the experience of our internal partners and external partners at GBC.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Previous experience in administration, back-office support customer service within financial services is required.
  • High school diploma required, combined with some post-secondary education in the fields of administration/business, finance, or related work experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge and understanding of retail loan products, lending processes and an understanding of credit terminology is an asset.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment which requires the ability to be flexible, multitask and work between several systems simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills, with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
