What you'll do

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing projects related to tech product development and other strategic initiatives throughout the business.

This role is a 12-month temporary full-time contract. This position will collaborate with stakeholders from various time zones throughout Canada and India and will therefore require flexibility in work hours. We are a hybrid office, with team members working from home and in our Vancouver office. This role is remote eligible within Canada.

Your responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of tech product development projects by collaborating with Product Management, Product Design and Product Delivery, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and quality standards
  • Collaborate with business leaders to oversee quarterly and annual strategic initiatives within the organization to ensure timely completion and highlight key challenges
  • Help define department specific project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and ensure alignment with business goals
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations across multiple product development streams to effectively manage project execution and mitigate risks
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or roadblocks, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track
  • Manage executive level updates and prioritize areas where COO support/intervention is required to remove project roadblocks
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide regular project updates, status reports, and performance metrics to senior management and key stakeholders
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, optimization, and innovation within the project management framework
  • Lead and mentor project manager to drive successful project execution and foster professional growth within the project management department

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex tech product development projects from inception to delivery within a fast-paced environment
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years of experience in the technology sector
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, with the ability to adapt and tailor project management approaches based on project requirements
  • Highly proficient in creating accurate project estimates based on requirements, resource availability, and past data, ensuring realistic timelines across various stages of technology product development
  • Experience and flexibility to work with distributed/offshore teams located in various time zones
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail
  • PMP, Scrum Master, or other relevant certifications are a plus
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Monday.com etc. is preferred

Compensation

The expected starting salary range for this role is $115,000 - $140,000/year.
