We are currently seeking a to join our growing team at Herbaland Headquarter, located in Richmond, BC.

Summary:

The HR Generalist at Herbaland will play a critical role in supporting the Human Resources department across a range of functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance.

Job Duties:

  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, from job posting to candidate selection and onboarding.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions and specifications.
  • Conduct interviews, reference checks, and background screenings.
  • Facilitate new employee orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and issues, providing guidance and support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
  • Support the performance review process, including the preparation of performance evaluations and documentation.
  • Assist managers in setting performance goals and providing constructive feedback.
  • Identify and address performance issues, working with management to implement improvement plans.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Coordinate open enrollment periods and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding employee benefits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and HR databases.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and documentation for audits and other compliance activities.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs and workshops.
  • Support career development initiatives and succession planning efforts.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures to ensure consistent application.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of HR policies to ensure alignment with best practices and legal requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in managing the full recruitment cycle, from job posting to candidate selection and onboarding.
  • Ability to develop and maintain job descriptions and specifications.
  • Skilled in conducting interviews, reference checks, and background screenings.
  • Experience in facilitating new employee orientations and ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and issues, providing guidance and support.
  • Ability to foster a positive and inclusive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
  • Experience in assisting in the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
  • Knowledge of supporting the performance review process, including the preparation of performance evaluations and documentation.

Work Conditions:

  • Travel may be required.
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
  • Overtime may be required.
