What You Do

  • Responsible for school bus and charter operations as well as providing oversight of the Cold Lake Transit System for the City of Cold Lake
  • Inspire, coach, mentor, build, develop, and support a team of dedicated professionals to deliver business objectives
  • Create a working environment that is aligned with the organization's desire to be Employer of Choice, ensuring that people resources possess the required skills, are properly aligned, and are provided with the resources to do the job
  • Implement initiatives designed to increase employee engagement and improve recruitment and retention
  • Administer and manage relevant operating agreements, budgets, and contracts; review and approve expenditures and service standards; meet service delivery objectives and manage division activities within budgetary limits
  • Demonstrate leadership and core competencies at a high level of development; serve as an exemplary model of the company's Core Values
  • Provide oversight and direction to staff; deliver timely feedback; monitor the achievement of performance objectives; develop and implement action plans to address performance gaps
  • Maintain and build on existing client relationships and seek out new opportunities in order to grow the business
  • Remain current with latest transportation technology systems and procedures

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education with an emphasis on Business or Management; an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience also considered
  • Previous transportation operations and management experience
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, analytic problem solving, and diplomacy skills
  • Desire to lead large teams and encourage them to perform at their very best
  • Proven ability to engage employees and develop strategies to increase retention
  • Previous experience managing budgets and financial statements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the transportation industry
  • Knowledge of WCB and Occupational Health and Safety regulations
