Our client is seeking a Senior Manager for their growing International Tax team. Providing the highest level of excellence, they are a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Their Tax team works with individuals and organizations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors providing comprehensive strategies that minimize risk, meet tax compliance and reporting requirements, drive efficiencies and maximize returns.
Responsibilities
  • Proactively lead multiple client facing engagement teams involving international corporate tax matters for Canadian and foreign-based multinationals
  • Advise clients on tax matters involving the structuring of business expansions, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, repatriation, financing, shareholder planning, tax controversy and tax compliance.
  • Review tax due diligence, tax models and tax research
  • Review Canadian income tax and related information returns, including review of T1134s and surplus studies
  • Manage project financials (budgets, WIP, and timely billing)
  • Network and take a leadership role in the local professional, business, and community while raising awareness of their firm and looking for new business development opportunities
  • Leverage team appropriately
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Develop, coach, and train team members towards professional and personal development
  • Promote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellness
Skills and Experience:
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, orMasters Degree in Taxation, or Member of the Bar
  • Completion of In-Depth Program
  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience including a minimum of 5 years in International Tax
  • Extensive knowledge of, and experience working on, international corporate tax consulting and compliance
  • Strong understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles
  • Working knowledge of transfer pricing tax concepts and tax efficiencies of cross-border flows
  • Experience working with, or exposure to, accounting and tax software such as CaseWare
  • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
