Position Summary:

Are you passionate about working with children and creating engaging experiences for them? Join our team as a Youth Program Assistant! In this role, you will support the coordination and execution of activities and events for children aged 8-17 years. Your responsibilities will include maintaining program records, organizing events, collaborating with program staff, fostering inclusivity, and communicating with parents. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development and enjoyment of youth participants in a supportive community environment.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to the Employment Services Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of program activities, including attendance.
  • Organize and store program documentation in both physical and digital formats.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute events and activities for children, including workshops and recreational outings.
  • Collaborate with program staff to develop event schedules, activity plans, and materials needed for each event.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for children and families attending program events.
  • Collaborate with community organizations to organize and host events.
  • Communicate with parents about the schedule of activities, program rules, and address any questions or concerns regarding their children.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Passion for working with children and creating engaging and meaningful experiences for them.
  • Experience working with children aged 8-17 years.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is an asset.

Additional Information:

This is an 8-week contract position.
