The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) is seeking a permanent full-time Solutions Analyst to work in the Distribution Centre.
The Warehouse Management System (WMS) Solutions Analyst is responsible for providing day-to-day advanced technical and operational support for business systems and processes and leading business analysis activities for projects in the Distribution Branch. The incumbent monitors and maintains business systems and processes, troubleshoots, and resolves complex and escalated issues and liaises with ITB, other business areas and/or vendors on the delivery of business system and process activities. Work is performed according to general direction where discretion and judgment are exercised. Decisions or actions made at this level impact the activity of a program, project, or service objectives as well as influence project or service priorities and the number of resources dedicated to achieving SLGA's established objectives. This position works very closely with the Inventory Control Administrator to provide seamless, efficient service to internal and external customers.Core Competencies (Job Family – Technical)

Job Duties
  • Create and maintain warehouse user documentation related to the software systems and business processes.
  • Create and maintain test cases and issue logs for system upgrades, patches, and modifications to the WMS software.
  • Requirements gathering and documentation for patches and system modifications.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems by gathering pertinent information and implementing necessary changes.
  • Maintain working relationships with several SLGA departments to sustain and improve operational efficiencies related to product set-up and storage.
  • Assist in coordinating and reconciling stock counts.
  • Coordinate racking changes and physical configuration of the warehouse.
  • Change management preparation and transitional planning.
  • Develop strategies for the movement of products and resolve workflow issues to promote excellent customer service.
  • Assist in the development of efficient and safe work processes.
  • Provides day-to-day advanced technical and operational support for business systems and processes.
  • Leads business analysis activities for business system or process projects (such as system maintenance and upgrades), including planning and monitoring; identifying, managing, and communicating requirements; identifying and proposing solutions; and assessing, testing, validating, implementing, and evaluating solutions.
  • Maintain data integrity by correcting data through fixes.
  • Investigate and answer questions from users regarding the WMS.
  • Works collaboratively with the Information Technology Branch (ITB) on projects that impact the branch and serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on business systems, processes, and rules.
  • Ensures that Inventory Control Administrator work processes are in alignment with the system for efficiencies.
  • Monitors and maintains business systems and processes.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex and escalated business system and process issues and documents.
  • Liaises or consults with ITB, business areas and/or vendors on the delivery of business system and process activities. For example, system maintenance, upgrades, and improvements and to resolve complex and escalated issues.
  • Develops and maintains complex queries, spreadsheets, and reports.
  • Identifies, researches, analyses, and recommends improvements to business systems and processes.
  • Identifies, develops, and delivers user training for business systems and processes.
  • Develops and maintains procedures for business systems and processes.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Technical Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are gained through a degree or diploma specializing in Business Administration or Information Technology from a recognized Post-Secondary Educational Institution, or through related business experience plus a minimum of three years of related experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of business analysis activities.
  • Thorough knowledge of system testing methods and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of project management fundamentals.
  • A strong background in, developing and implementing solutions for enterprise applications or web-based computer systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable lifecycle methodologies.
  • Knowledge of desktop commercial software applications such as MS Office.
  • Ability to design or adapt systems and/or applications considering design alternatives, business requirements and/or resource and time constraints.
  • Ability to create and/or modify a sequence of computer instructions that meet design requirements within established guidelines to build and test complex/distributed application components.
  • Thorough knowledge of WMS software with the ability to implement configuration changes, create new warehouse areas, zones, sections, search paths, storage rules, build and maintain WMS views, maintain user configuration, etc.
  • Knowledge of ‘Edit with Excel' to assist with configuration changes.
  • Thorough knowledge of warehouse management practices and ideologies to ensure efficient receipt and storage of products.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations relating to receiving, shipping, inventory control, picking, RF equipment, and mobile-powered equipment used in a warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of radio frequency equipment and wireless networks to provide technical support.
Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and impacts relating to mobile equipment, racking systems, and storage capacities.Working Conditions The Solutions Analyst typically works core office hours (7:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.) Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays such as New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Remembrance Day, and Christmas Day. The majority of the work day is spent sitting at a desk keyboarding. In the course of their duties, the Solutions Analyst may need to interact with customers who are irate and upset and respond positively to resolve the issue. Note: The position will be subject to normal Distribution Centre hours with a scheduled day off every third week.
Classification: Level 9 ($34.83– $44.35 per hour)
