Job Description

The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for the receiving and storage of incoming products, monitoring the proper receipt and rotation of stock, and for maintaining the conditions of the receiving, storage and cooler facilities. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Determine proper levels of inventory by SKU for the warehouse inventory counts.
  • Investigate discrepancies from the inventory counts, for all warehouse departments including mis-picks.
  • Effective and timely communications on supply related issues such as: shortages, damages, rotation issues and incorrect receives.
  • Monitor monthly product expiry and communicate with management and procurement in regards to close dated product.
  • Assist with claim investigation from retail locations.
  • Strictly observes adherence to all Health and Safety Procedures and dress code to ensure safety of staff and surroundings.
  • Report any improper storage of products to the Warehouse Managers for corrective action; i.e. incorrect stacking of pallets, physical damage to products.
  • May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.
Qualifications
  • Typically requires completion of post-secondary education in Office Administration plus a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience in a Production Facility or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working experience using a Forklift is required.
  • The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of proper lifting techniques.
  • Strong personal initiative and problem-solving ability.
  • Superior standards of sanitation, cleanliness and food safety.
  • Strong orientation for customer service and team participation.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Willingness to strictly adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Work & Sensory Environment:

  • Regular requirement to wear cumbersome protective clothing or equipment.
  • Lack of control over pace due to multiple and/or tight deadlines beyond one's control.
  • Will be required to lift, carry and/or handle heavy objects.
  • Must be able to reach, lift, twist, turn and bend for prolonged periods up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment (2 to 4 degrees Celsius).
