Your Responsibilities:As a Superintendent, you will work with the Project Manager and Foreman to ensure construction complies with project specifications and schedule. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating the work of all trades, equipment, and use of materials on site to accomplish all activities safely, correctly, and efficiently.
- Overseeing and Managing: Oversee and manage the entire construction process. You will be responsible for project progress, scheduling, quality control, safety, and properly delegating duties and responsibilities to the project team and sub-contractors.
- Document Review: Review relevant documents and drawings and identify discrepancies in the scope of work.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Work proactively with the project team to avoid any potential problems and obstacles that may arise throughout the project and ensure the constant flow of the project.
- Daily Management: Complete daily site reports and POs and manage all site inspection meetings.
- Supervision: Supervise activities of subcontractors and staff.
- Coordination: Coordinate the sequence of work and subcontractors and site staff daily to prepare for days/weeks ahead.
- Communication: Communicate with engineers during site reviews.
- Quality Assurance: Review work daily to ensure correct detailing and materials are being used.
- Cost Monitoring: Monitor expenditures effectively, review invoices, and manage labor and material costs according to the project budget and underlying estimate.
- Safety Promotion: Promote a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel on site, monitor safety performance, and oversee the Site HSE Coordinator.
- Issue Resolution: Resolve on-site issues and emergencies.
- Scheduling: Prepare and maintain all schedules and ensure materials and workforce are aligned.
- Policy Enforcement: Enforce all health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols and coordinate with the site HSE Coordinator.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a construction superintendent/supervisory position.
- Experience managing residential, commercial, or institutional exterior building envelope replacement projects.
- Experience in restorations, wood frame construction supervision.
- Post-secondary education in the construction-related field, ideally the carpentry industry.
- Proven experience managing complete projects from initial scope to completion.
- Excellent knowledge of the Lower Mainland and BC construction industry.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Salary: Approximately $130,000 per year
