Vice-President of Real Estate Canada – Toronto, ON

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), Foodtastic is seeking a Vice-President of Real Estate Canada who will oversee and be responsible for all leases, lease renewals, location disposition and rent reductions.

This role will:

• Responsible for lease renewal proposals and negotiated business terms to ensure the financial terms of the lease meet with company/franchise partner budgets
• Approve draft lease terms with internal/external legal counsel to ensure that terms are aligned with company standards.
• Support new development, support existing sites and help us cultivate the system.
• Track critical dates including lease expiries, renewal option deadlines, possession date and commencement dates.
• Approve ancillary documents (storage agreements, estopped certificates, pylon sign agreements etc)
• Ensure charges are applied in accordance to the lease and communicating any changes to franchise partners, as well as accounting department for corporate rent roll
• Ensure correct payment made to landlords
• Maintain database with respect to lease information for all stores
• Ensure dates set out in agreements are met with respect to fixturing and commencement.
• Gather documentation required for billing of tenant allowance.
• Ensures to contact landlords for monthly statements and updates arrears reports.
• Maintains property index and lease correspondence files.
