YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and review Canadian tax returns for individuals, businesses, trusts, and estates with the chance to learn the ins-and-outs of U.S. taxation.
- Conduct thorough tax research and stay up to date with tax laws and regulations to resolve tax issues and offer tax support to clients.
- Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients, identifying opportunities for tax savings and ensuring compliance with present tax laws.
- Assist with the resolution of complex tax issues and represent clients in audits and disputes with tax authorities.
- Develop, build and nurture strong, long-lasting client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on tax-related matters.
- Proactively manage your client portfolio and workload capacity to ensure accurate and timely delivery of tax services.
- Contribute to the firm's growth and business development by identifying and securing potential clients and participating in networking activities.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Possess your CPA certification with a minimum of 7 years of tax accounting experience and at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Technically versed in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), CaseWare, QuickBooks Desktop & Online, and Tax Cycle.
- In-depth knowledge and application of Canadian tax laws and regulations, and accounting standards (i.e., ASPE, IFRS & ASNPO).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly and confidently engage with clients, verbally and in writing.
