Ideal candidate:

· Act as an electrical engineer in the design of a building

. Experience building comprehensive electrical system upgrades in one or a combination of the following areas: power distribution, lighting (indoor and outdoor), controls, fire alarms, and voice/data communication systems

· Project Management skills and will be involved in all the different project stages namely, response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), systems analyses, detailed design, procurement services, and construction oversight

· Ability to collaborate and work with others and other engineering disciplines

Qualifications and Experience
Must have Equivalent of at least 5-6 years prior experience in the design of building electrical systems
Professional Engineering (P.Eng) certification or eligibility to apply for P.Eng
Considerable range of exposure to various types of facilities (strong exposure to commercial- and institutional-type projects preferred) and systems.
Skilled application of AutoCAD drafting software (Revit modelling experience also an asset)
Project management skills and experience
Applied knowledge of energy efficiency, sustainability and climate change considerations in designs

Following are their specific responsibilities

Building Systems Design

· Conduct of conceptual designs and detailed cost estimates for building electrical system upgrades, development of business cases and preparation of client reports

· Carrying out detailed design of building electrical systems, applying engineering knowledge in the preparation of technical specifications and documentation and in using theories and calculations to arrive at solutions.

· Preparing tender documentation for procurement of equipment and installation, in coordination with owners on requirements

· Ensuring that construction and implementation are carried out within agreed project timelines, in coordination with owners and constructors. Carrying out field reviews, review documents during construction and provide instructions and solutions to the problems to ensure the project is constructed per design intend and Owner's requirements.

Project Management

· Managing projects and phases. This includes resource planning, budgeting, change management, scope management, schedule and contingency planning and resolution.

· Providing guidance and supervision to more junior members of the project team.

· Marketing and Business Development

· Preparing technical responses to Requests for Proposal (RFP's)

· Building and maintaining effective relationships with Prism's key clients and managing key accounts

· Promoting the team's and wider Prism services (i.e. cross-services marketing) to existing and potential clients
