We are seeking an analytical and highly motivated Legal Administrator who is determined to join and help our growing legal team at our office in Mississauga, Ontario. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is looking to learn and work in a legal setting while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and manage incoming legal submissions, ensuring they are assigned appropriately.
  • Provide legal support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative assistance to third-party legal services and collection vendors.
  • Prepare and maintain legal inventory and productivity reports.
  • Manage and apply payment transactions to the appropriate accounts.
  • Provide administrative support to the Legal Account Management team.
  • Responsible for photocopying, sorting, and scanning legal documents, files, and other confidential materials.
  • Handle various ad hoc administrative tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • 1-2 years in a similar role would be an asset
  • Collections or court clerk experience would be an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian provincial collection and litigation laws
  • Familiar with small claim court procedures
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure and react quickly
  • Analytical skills, ability to identify problem areas and identify solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and ability to manage multiple applications across more than one screen.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite
  • Post secondary education or equivalent job experience
