Salary: $46 - $48.00/hour

Job Description

This position holds primary responsibility for coordinating daily management of all activities involved in providing medications to specialty clinics in accordance with established corporate procedures and provincial pharmacy laws.

The Pharmacist is responsible for controlling processes to ensure that all products meet both professional and corporate standards of accuracy and quality. In addition, supervise technical staff and coordinate pharmacy activities with distribution and order entry. Communicate with customers regarding pharmacy services and clarify issues with physicians, nurses and other pharmacists.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management experience
  • Excellent communication skills and strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Google Sheet, etc is mandatory
  • Excellent time management skills, organizational skills, and ability to multitask
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet requirements of evolving business needs
  • Liaise with clinics, pharmacies, and other vendors
  • Willing to learn the compounding side of the business and help with entering drug cards, final verification of products and maintain compounding documentation. Training will be provided
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation is entered into the appropriate systems to maintain high quality customer service
  • Prepare and process billings, claims and related documents
  • Aid in management assigned tasks and projects
  • Work collaboratively with Pharmacy managers, Physicians and Supervisors to ensure the operations are maintained appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision would be an asset.
  • Ensure S.O.P. or policy and procedure requirements are incorporated into daily procedures and correctly followed by staff in the execution of all duties.
  • Establish, validate, and maintain quality assurance procedures, and records.
  • Assist in production activities (i.e., compounding of product) when the workload requires.
  • Participate in departmental clinical and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engages in or supervises drug preparation activities
  • Observe and assess the equipment, materials and procedures used in the facility and recommend changes where appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSc Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Good standing with OCP
  • Strong personal computing skills, as well as knowledge of KROLL paperless is an asset
  • Strong verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to motivate and coach others
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong sense of professionalism
  • Proven ability to build the business using community-based marketing strategies
  • Strong problem-solving skills including the experience formulating and executing action plans
