TAX MANAGEROBJECTIVEAs a Tax Manager, you will be instrumental in achieving success, no matter the scale. Your primary duties will include preparing and finalizing tax provision details necessary for financial statement reporting and ensuring compliance with various tax regulations.
This position requires extensive communication and collaboration on diverse tax issues with foreign subsidiary personnel and external consultants. Additionally, you will oversee junior staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all related tasks.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the preparation of income tax returns, including specialized formS
  • Liaise with both domestic and international tax authorities during audits or reviews, addressing their inquiries efficiently.
  • Manage compliance filings
  • Assist in calculating intercompany billing charges and support the preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
  • Supervise the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated tax provisions along with financial statement note disclosures.
  • Ensure adherence to key internal controls related to tax provision processes and compliance activities are maintained effectively.
  • Review various returns including GST/HST returns, T5 slips/returns, NR4 forms,and US Form 1099 submissions for accuracy.
  • Offer strategic advice aimed at minimizing overall company taxes.
  • Aid in corporate restructuring initiatives as well as other relevant tax projects when necessary.
  • Prepare or review responses for external auditors' queries regarding financial statements.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Willingness to undertake international travel as necessary.
  • At least 6+ years of experience, ideally within a public or industry tax practice setting.
  • Strong expertise in tax accounting, with experience in provision calculations for large multinational clients at public accounting firms or managing the tax provision process at multinational corporations.
  • Ability to proactively identify and manage multiple tasks with diverse priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in English, with Spanish being advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Comprehensive understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Completion of the CPA In-depth Tax Course.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
