The Role
We are searching for a highly motivated Safety Coordinator to lead in safety on a major 12-month project (with potential for extension). You will promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all safety regulations. This is a fast-paced role requiring excellent communication and a proactive approach.
Responsibilities
- Implement and promote the company's safety program and culture on-site.
- Deliver safety orientations to all project personnel.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and hazard assessments.
- Develop, implement, and communicate safe work plans and procedures.
- Investigate safety incidents and document findings.
- Maintain safety documentation and communication boards.
- Facilitate safety committee meetings.
- Act as a liaison between workers, management, clients, and visitors regarding safety.
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Safety Manager.
Qualifications
- Experience in a construction environment is preferred.
- WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) and Working at Heights certifications are a plus.
- Excellent public speaking and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A passion for safety and a commitment to continuous learning.
