Position: Heavy Duty Mechanic / Technician - Apprentice 3rd year

Position Type: Full time - Permanent.

Location: Surrey, BC.

Work Schedule: Four 10-hour days. Monday to Thursday - Night shift

Position Overview

Velocity Truck Centre Canada, formally known as First Truck Centre, is looking for a 3rd year Heavy Duty Mechanic / Technician in Surrey BC. This position involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of commercial transport vehicles, including trucks, trailers, buses, and other heavy equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain class 6,7 and 8 vehicles and trailers.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in commercial trucks, including engines, transmissions, and braking systems, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
  • Work with Journeyman technicians on a variety of different repair and inspection duties.
  • Maintain efficient and accurate workmanship in a safe and professional environment.
  • Test systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Current Valid 3rd year apprentice status.
  • High School Automotive and/or farm experience is an asset.
  • Must have own tools (required tool list will be provided).
  • Initiative-taker able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment.
  • Ability to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift.
  • Class 5 driver's license.
  • Class 1, Class 3, and MVI Certifications are a bonus.
