Matte Painting Artist or a DMP Artist is responsible for producing photographic representations of backgrounds, sets or any other element that could not be filmed as well as enhancement of CG elements.

Day to Day Responsibilities include:

• Creating 2D elements in Photoshop with excellent knowledge of perspective, colors/values, scale and atmosphere
• Building proxy geo based on matchmove, scans or layouts
• Projecting 2D elements on geometry in compositing software
• Creating slap comps with DMP elements
• Creating concept/photobashes
• Using UV's or compositing tools such as Smart Vector to apply 2D enhancements on moving geometry

Requirements

• Must be proficient with using Photoshop, Maya and Nuke
• Strong knowledge of matte painting techniques including color space, digital paint techniques
• Possess excellent artistic communication skills, as well as an excellent eye for detail
• Flexibility to produce concept art from scratch
• Solid knowledge and understanding of visual effects pipelines, production, and implementation
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Must include your current resume and Demo reel with breakdowns

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000 CND. Individual salaries within this range will be dependent upon skills, experience, and qualifications.
