Operations Manager at Ellice Recycle

Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of Ellice Recycle, a waste management and recycling company that serves residential and commercial customers in the region. The Operations Manager ensures that the company delivers high-quality service, maintains safety standards, and achieves operational and financial goals. The Operations Manager also oversees the staff, equipment, and facilities of the company, and works closely with the sales and marketing team to grow the business and increase customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct the operations of the company, including customer service, collection, processing, and disposal of waste and recyclable materials.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance, safety, and profitability of the company, and implement improvements and corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as local, provincial, and federal regulations and standards related to waste management and recycling.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety team to prevent and investigate accidents and incidents, and provide training and coaching to employees on safety best practices.
  • Review and approve employee timecards and manage staffing and scheduling needs.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, suppliers, and community partners.
  • Resolve any issues or complaints that arise from customers or employees in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the waste management and recycling industry, and identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, environmental science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in waste management, recycling, or related industry, with at least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Strong knowledge of waste management and recycling operations, equipment, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of employees.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications, and familiar with waste management and recycling software and systems.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Flexible and willing to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Passionate about environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 annually with a comprehensive benefits package and company vehicle.
