Gore Mutual is looking for an energetic and dynamic people leader to help break the mould and challenge the status quo. As we push forward with our ambitious growth strategy, we are looking for a change leader who can encourage team members to grow to new heights. The Commercial Manager is responsible for the profitable growth of the commercial portfolio. In this role, you will lead a team of underwriters through team leads and promote a solution-oriented culture while maintaining the underwriting integrity of the commercial portfolio. At Gore Mutual, we believe that personal service sets us apart from our peers and developing successful relationships with our broker partners defines success in the role.

What will you do?
- Lead a team of Commercial Underwriters, field underwriters, and other people leaders and influence frontline decisions that shape best practices of the commercial department
- Communicate department objectives and motivate the team to meet and exceed customer service standards
- Develop and facilitate strong broker relationships using a high degree of diplomacy and negotiation in conjunction with our business development team and field underwriters
What will you need to succeed?
- Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial underwriting
- Previous operational commercial leadership experience is an asset
- CIP required, FCIP/CRM designation are considered an asset
- Innovative, solutions focused and strong business acumen
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
