We are looking for a Terminal Manager at our terminal located at our Head Office in Sherwood Park. This position works Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The Terminal Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations and is responsible for overseeing all operations at the terminal; including but not limited to, administration, employee management, maintenance, purchasing, customer relations, and safety. Additionally, this position provides leadership and support to the terminal personnel through direction and delegation while ensuring operational goals are achieved.
- Operational Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor cyclical business.
- Oversee the effective and efficient use of equipment.
- Resolve operational issues with all employees.
- Oversee dispatch processes.
- Oversee terminal Lease Operators.
- Supervise compliance with CTS Communication Systems and policy.
- Employee Management Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of company policies.
- Working with the HR Department on all employee issues including the hiring process, training and development, discipline, and terminations; and vacation accruals following Caron Transportation Systems' Policies and Procedures and Safety Manuals.
- Develop, mentor, and provide leadership to all employees.
- Perform probationary and yearly performance reviews of all employees.
- Ensure employee attendance records are completed and sent to head office for semi-monthly pay.
- Oversee and lead employee meetings.
- Maintenance Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Facility Supervisor to ensure:
- Maintenance schedules are followed.
- Effective vendor management
- Maintenance standards are enforced.
- Property Maintenance
- Oversee seasonal/annual yard and grounds maintenance.
- Oversee building maintenance.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Facility Supervisor to ensure:
- Financial Responsibilities
- Develop and manage annual expense budgets.
- Provide input on capital investments.
- Oversee terminal purchasing.
- Administrative Responsibilities
- Oversee that all billing documentation is completed accurately and promptly.
- Ensure accuracy in the submission of reports from all departments within the terminal.
- Meet all departmental deadlines, pay cycles, and required reporting expectations.
- Sales Responsibilities
- Manage customer relations including site visitations when required.
- Foster positive relationships with customers
- Respond to customer service requests.
- Resolve customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist the sales department in acquiring new business.
- Safety Responsibilities
- First responder for accidents in their immediate geographic region regardless of which terminal is involved, until EMR is available.
- Ensure all safety training requirements are met.
- Ensure proper reporting procedures are followed.
- Maintain and apply legal hours of service.
- Ensure all Regulatory Compliances are met.
- Assist with all terminal audits.
- Perform assigned tasks following the Caron QMS and production standards required by the Company.
- All other duties as assigned.
