Fuel and Lube Technician

Reporting directly to the Earthworks Supervisor, or their designate, the Fuel and Lube Technician is the primary position responsible for assisting with all site services and utilities work including maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and other operational services at the Eskay Creek site.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Lubricating wheel bearings to prevent excessive tire wear.
  • Applying lubricants to the moving parts of vehicle engines to prevent premature -engine wear and ensure optimal engine performance.
  • Performing engine cleanings to prevent rust formation.
  • Replacing cabin, fuel, air, and oil filters as required.
  • Performing tire rotations to ensure even tire wear.
  • Testing tire pressure and adding air as needed.
  • Thoroughly inspecting customers' vehicles for oil leaks.
  • Making recommendations for additional servicing based on initial vehicle inspections.

Work Location and Conditions

This is a site-based camp job near the Eskay Creek Mine site in Northwestern BC. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 22 days on/13 days off rotation including travel.

The Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities in the region. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace Airport, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena's Travel Policy.

There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and wet conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.
