Assistant Controller

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller for our growing team in the Edmonton area. The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in all aspects of finance. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Financial Services
• Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Maintenance
• Bank and other balance sheet reconciliations
• Job Cost Accounting
• Fixed Asset management and accounting
• Intercompany billings and reconciliations
• Payroll accounting
• Monthly tax filings for three companies (GST, PST)
• Updating financial data to ensure the accuracy of the information
• Assist with monthly job cost reporting and financial statement preparation
• Processing financial entries, ensuring proper recording of business transactions
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• CPA designation preferred (Canada or equivalent)
• Business/Accounting Degree or Diploma with equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years related experience
• Job costing and WIP calculation experience required
• Knowledge of banking platforms and different electronic payment methods required
• Pivot table knowledge required
• Self-assessed PST knowledge preferred
• Payroll knowledge preferred
