About the Company

Established over 60 years ago, Cyril J. Demeyere Limited is a Consulting Engineering firm that specializes in municipal engineering works for both private developers and local municipalities. CJDL has extensive experience in land development and in road reconstruction where the scope of work includes replacement of sanitary sewer, storm sewer and watermain.

The scope of this role includes: Performing a variety of engineering design and field duties under the direction of a senior engineer. Projects will include infrastructure renewal, new subdivision servicing, site/lot development/grading plans, sewer and watermain design and storm water management. A field survey and on-site construction inspection will be required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work cooperatively with senior staff to develop grading plans, site plans and subdivision/condo servicing plans & profiles
  • On-site inspection of sewer, watermain & roadwork construction
  • Act as a field survey crew assistant for topographic surveys and construction layout
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D Drafting – develop digital drawings from staff instructions and client directions
  • Participate in report writing
  • Support a variety of Civil Engineering tasks alongside senior Engineers and Project Managers

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology. A Certified Engineering Technologist designation is an asset
  • Driver's License Class G required with access to a vehicle
  • Relevant experience working with municipalities, developers and contractors is preferred
  • Ability to interpret, read and comprehend engineering and construction drawings and specifications
  • Adept at producing drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D is required
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive professional relationships
  • Willingness to work overtime as required
  • Candidates with an education and/or background in Civil Engineering Technology / survey are ideally suited for this position - designation as EIT or P.Eng is not required.
