The Global Sourcing Specialist at Hexagon Purus will play a crucial role in optimizing our supply chain, driving cost efficiencies, and ensuring the procurement of high-quality components and materials. This role involves developing request for proposal (RFP) and quote (RFQ) documents, analyzing vendor quotes and proposals, preparing vendor recommendations for decision-making, among other key functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in negotiation, engineering, procurement, and in the automotive industry, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Search, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers for automotive components and materials in alignment with sourcing strategies.
- Develop RFI, RFP, and RFQ Documents in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, that align with project requirements and specifications.
- Analyze and evaluate vendor quotes and proposals. Conduct critical evaluations based on the supplier onboarding process considering factors such as price, quality, experience, and capabilities.
- Prepare comprehensive vendor recommendations for decision-making, including management approval documentation and ensuring fully compliant procurement selection processes and documentation.
- Develop, implement, and improve sourcing strategies based on supplier segmentation techniques such as the Kraljic Matrix, vendor categories, and others.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and cost structures to identify supplier cost savings opportunities.
- Assess risks and implement mitigation plans related to supply chains including geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors.
- Develop and identify contingency plans to manage supply chain risk such as dual-sourcing opportunities.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts/long-term agreements with key suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or similar field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Knowledge of metal-formed, injection molded, electronic, and EV parts.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed recommendations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes, quality standards, and industry regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Estimated salary range: $70k-$85k CAD.
The compensation posted is a guide and may not represent the final amount offered to a candidate. Compensation will be based on candidate skills, qualifications, and overall experience level.
Compensation at Hexagon Purus includes base salary, comprehensive benefits package, variable annual bonus, and 6% RRSP match.
