OVERVIEW

Vertex is currently accepting applications for a full-time Shop Hand located in Rocky View County, AB. The successful candidate will provide basic support during tank and turnaround operations. This position requires workers use various hand and power tools, shovels, and other equipment.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience with industrial cleaning or oil and gas operations preferred
• Strong planning and organizing capabilities
• Able to lift and carry up to 45 Kg
• Extensive knowledge of:
  
  • Ergonomics
  • Personal protective equipment requirements
    
  • Working basic hand and power tools
    
  • Occupational health and safety regulations, safety programs (company and client)
• Class 5 licence is required, Class 1 licence is considered an asset
• Clean drivers' abstract (must provide an abstract and photocopy of license)
• Ability to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity.
• Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned.
• Successful candidates will demonstrate integrity and reliability.

RESPONSIBLITIES

• Accurate inventorying of tool trailers
• Inspection of tools prior to field mobilization and once tools have been returned
• Place orders for supplies needed for projects
• Prep-stock resupply
• Chemical loading
• Forklift operating
• Responsible for ensuring trailers are properly and safely hooked up to each truck
  
• Prep vehicle binders for mobilization
  
• Assist Shop Manager as required
