Enterprise Applications Support Analyst

Offering the opportunity to learn the wide variety of technologies that are required for a leading transportation provider based in Calgary, this position is integral and essential to maintaining and developing mission critical business applications. The Enterprise Applications Support Analyst supports (and develops) a wide variety of business applications in a variety of technologies. The successful applicant will also be responsible for supporting a variety of business applications, with a focus on JDEdwards.
Accountabilities
- Maintain/support the company business systems, both in-house and cloud based, with a focus on JDEdwards Finance, HCM, Time Entry, Payroll, and related interfaces
- Monitor and resolve tickets received through the Applications Service Desk queue
- Adhere to IT policies, backup policies, internet policies and remote-home access policies
- Analyze new business requests and design, develop, test, and promote new changes into the production environment without impacting daily operations or performance
- Follow the development standards and conventions with regards to all aspects of the application including documentation, coding, etc.
- Deliver assigned tasks on time and on budget with expected quality based on established priorities
- Design and collaborate with onsite management and IT-based business requirements
- Personal productivity – commitment to fulfill assigned tasks in a timely manner
- Review and validate customer data as it is collected
- Work with multiple data sources internal and external, structured and unstructured to develop interfaces and advanced data models for business intelligence and business analytics
- Write complex SQL queries to extract and integrate to existing and new data models
- Create and develop scheduled and ad-hoc reports that help support the analysis of business trends for various business units
- Work directly with business users and decision-makers to gather requirements and define and develop work plans
- Gather information from across the organization about needs and future growth
- Evaluate, analyze and recommend potential for opportunities that enhance business direction and processes
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree
- Minimum 5 to 7 years progressive experience in a similar role
- Experience with JDEdwards support and/or development
- Application development experiences with C#/VB and ASP.Net technologies
- Database design and data analysis with Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or higher
- Writing queries and preparing analytical reports
- Database administration, monitoring/tuning database performance and establishing/interpreting database performance metrics
- Programming experience with APIs including those of SOAP/Restful
- Strong background in all aspects of database technology
Desirable
- Understanding of the people transportation business and technologies applied in the domain
- Experience with mobile app development is considered an asset
- Experience with PowerBI is considered an asset

- This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) based in Calgary. Occasional travel is required (approximately 5% of the time per year).
