General Description

Air Compressor Technician will be responsible for performing all maintenance, service and installation of customer's air systems including air compressors, air dryers, filtration systems, air piping systems, rotary screw and reciprocating. Ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background with the ability to troubleshoot compressed air systems.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Perform all maintenance and service on compressed air systems for customers including after hour's emergencies
  • Prepare all work orders, timesheets and expense reports accurately, neatly and timely
  • Assist with evaluation of Air Specialty products for warranty, rebuilding and maintenance purposes
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain and grow relationship with existing and new customers
  • Communicate with Technical department to find alternatives and solutions to problems on parts, compressors, pumps and vacuum units
  • Be responsible for the up-keep of all company issued tools used for servicing compressors and related items
  • Manage supplied vehicle inventory
  • Interact with customers to assess and understand their needs and promote and sell air systems/automation related products and solutions
  • Assist in warehouse and other duties as needed

Requirements and Skills

  • 2-3 years of work experience in an air compressor service technician/maintenance role
  • Experience performing installations, preventative maintenance and repair of industrial air compressors
  • High level of analytical ability to find solutions to and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic problems
  • Able and willing to travel within NS, PE, NB and the USA for factory training
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Able to interpret pneumatic and electrical schematics
  • Comfortable working with electrical up to 600 VAC
  • Own and have a basic knowledge of hand tools
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Keep a professional appearance
  • Millwright certification an asset

Educational Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
