Nurse Operations Manager Job Description

HealthOPM stands for Our People Matter and was founded to address the workforce gaps in the healthcare sector. As a healthcare staffing agency, we work with clients in all healthcare sectors including long term care, retirement communities, hospitals, health centers and community clinics anywhere in southern Ontario that care is needed.

Salary 60k/year + benefits

This is a permanent, full-time position with scheduled hours primarily during business hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional Saturdays. The work environment is hybrid, allowing for both in-office and remote work. The Nurse Office Manager will be required, as needed, to address any escalated matters that arise after hours and on weekends.

Key responsibilities include managing nursing and non-nursing staff, overseeing office operations, client intake, customer service and on-going relations, employee scheduling management. Additionally, they will ensure clinical competency of clinical staff, and prioritize patient and employee safety.

The Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the nursing and non-nursing staff.
  • Maintain office operations by engaging with clients and employee alike.
  • Conduct performance reviews and coach and manage staff with performance issues and consult appropriately with HR.
  • Provide leadership and engage the team to ensure high standards of work quality and achieve or exceed performance targets.
  • Identify and address training and development needs of nursing and non-nursing staff.
  • Manage staff issues that may result in disciplinary action and/or potential termination as required.
  • Recognize and solve clinical and administrative problems.
  • Manage employee relations and along with HR, address employee grievances and/or complaints
  • Represent the company at corporate events, trade shows and exhibitions.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelors degree in Nursing or RPN diploma, be in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, have at least 1 year of management experience in healthcare, 2+ years of nursing experience, strong communication skills, proficiency in MS Word, leadership experience, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
