POSITION: Legal Assistant
JOB TYPE: Full Time
LOCATION: Grande Prairie, Alberta
JOB SUMMARY:
The Agency is assisting CLHLaw in the recruitment of a full time Legal Assistant. CLHLaw is a Grande Prairie based law firm, focused primarily on providing business legal services to clients throughout Western Canada. Legal services provided by our firm relate specifically to agriculture, oil & gas industry, forestry, service sector and retail. The successful candidate will be a detailed individual who likes to work hard, play hard and is looking for a long-term career.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitating real estate transactions, including conducting title searches, preparing legal documents and coordinating with buyers, sellers and other parties involved in the process
- Facilitating financing transactions, including conducting public registry searches, preparing legal documents and coordinating with borrowers, lenders and other parties involved in the process
Draft and revise correspondence
- Sending documentation and conveyancing reports to relevant lawyers and other brokers
Maintain electronic and paper filing systems
- Liaising with banks, mortgage brokers and other financial institutions to process mortgage documents and ensure timely completion of transactions
- Providing exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, clarifying legal procedures and guiding clients through the conveyancing process
- Ensuring all documents pertaining to the closing are intact and ready for processing
Execute strategies with minimum direction
Other Administrative duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years experience as a Legal Assistant or related role is desired
- Professional demeanor when managing all incoming client inquiries, work well with colleagues, lawyers, external clients and outside service providers
Excellent organizational and time management skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Exercise good judgment and maintain strict client confidentiality
