POSITION: Legal Assistant

JOB TYPE: Full Time

LOCATION: Grande Prairie, Alberta

JOB SUMMARY:
The Agency is assisting CLHLaw in the recruitment of a full time Legal Assistant. CLHLaw is a Grande Prairie based law firm, focused primarily on providing business legal services to clients throughout Western Canada. Legal services provided by our firm relate specifically to agriculture, oil & gas industry, forestry, service sector and retail. The successful candidate will be a detailed individual who likes to work hard, play hard and is looking for a long-term career.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitating real estate transactions, including conducting title searches, preparing legal documents and coordinating with buyers, sellers and other parties involved in the process
  • Facilitating financing transactions, including conducting public registry searches, preparing legal documents and coordinating with borrowers, lenders and other parties involved in the process
  • Draft and revise correspondence

  • Sending documentation and conveyancing reports to relevant lawyers and other brokers
  • Maintain electronic and paper filing systems

  • Liaising with banks, mortgage brokers and other financial institutions to process mortgage documents and ensure timely completion of transactions
  • Providing exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, clarifying legal procedures and guiding clients through the conveyancing process
  • Ensuring all documents pertaining to the closing are intact and ready for processing
  • Execute strategies with minimum direction

  • Other Administrative duties as assigned


REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5 years experience as a Legal Assistant or related role is desired
  • Professional demeanor when managing all incoming client inquiries, work well with colleagues, lawyers, external clients and outside service providers
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

  • Exercise good judgment and maintain strict client confidentiality
