We are looking to hire an experienced Heavy-Duty Service Truck Mechanic to join our growing team in Grimshaw, Alberta.
As a Service Truck Mechanic, you will inspect, service, and maintain our range of heavy-duty equipment. You will be responsible for driving to the job site, inspecting equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance to a diversified fleet. Some travel to remote work sites may be for extended periods of time.
Responsibilities:
- Inspecting, servicing, and maintaining a mobile and off-road fleet such as trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance
- Adjusting, testing, and repairing engines, steering systems, braking systems, drive trains, vehicle suspensions, electrical systems, and air-conditioning systems
- Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment
- Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts
- Repairing damaged equipment parts and perform major repair work when necessary including some welding and cutting where needed
- Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles
- Driving to various job sites
- Consulting with other Mechanics and Supervisor when needed
- Prepares and submits necessary reports (daily, weekly, etc.)
- Actively participate in the compliance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System
Desired skills and Experience:
- Trade Certification or Red Seal as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
- At least 3 years of experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic
- Must have a Class 5 driver's license at minimum - Class 3 is preferred,
- CVIP license
- Proven work experience with diesel or heavy equipment
- Understanding of computer testing technologies
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment
- Welding and cutting abilities
- Ability to lift heavy machinery
- Ability to work after-hours if required
- Good communication skills
