Title: Support Staff

Reports to: Pub General Manager

The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company is a craft brewery and brewpub located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Situated in the town of Canmore, the Grizzly Paw Pub & Brewing Company has been in operation since 1996. Our brewing operations include a 20,000 square foot landmark brewery, a pub, restaurant, taproom, and event space.

We are looking for an outgoing and knowledgeable colleague who is willing to learn and ready to provide our customers with memorable experiences!

Summary of Position:

Responsible for assisting the fronts of house functions including, labor, cleanliness, service, company standard. Position includes working in a variety of roles including Busser, Expeditor & Host.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Busser:

  • Customer Service: A friendly, relaxing demeanor, courteousness and quick service will help you get repeat customers.
  • Stamina: You will be working in a fast paced environment where there will always be something to do.
  • Teamwork: You will be working with servers, other bussers, bartenders and cooks to make a great dining experience. Being a team player is essential.
  • You will be responsible with helping the restaurant run smooth by helping to run food, seat tables, and reset tables for incoming guests

Expeditor:

  • Leadership Skills: Food expeditors are often leading both the wait staff and the cooks, making sure food is prepared and delivered in a timely way.
  • Sense of Taste and Smell: Delicious food brings in customers. Food expeditors are the last line of defense to make sure each piece of food is safe, prepared correctly and
  • Time Management Skills: Great time management will help you stay organized throughout service to make sure our product is getting to guests in a timely

Host

As a host or hostess you'll be responsible for many things, including, but not limited to:

  • Cheerfully greet guests, take them to their table and provide them with a
  • Monitor the table rotation and make sure that each member of the wait staff gets a fair amount of tables without giving them too many all at once
  • Give accurate wait times
  • Keep track of which tables are cleaned and available for new guests
  • Take reservations and in some cases take-out orders
  • Thank guests for coming when they depart
  • Keep guest washrooms clean
  • Ready and willing to work in a service role which may include direct contact with the public and or vendor representatives.
  • Follow all required Health, Safety, Prevention & Sanitation procedures at all times
  • Provide support and training to colleagues as required
  • Maintain proper audit track records, follow company policies & procedures
  • Develop and maintain close and effective working relationship with all supporting departments
  • Consider the environmental impact of all decisions
  • Complete other duties and projects as

Qualifications:

  • Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Position requires walking/standing for extended periods of time
  • Position may require heavy lifting up to 5lbs (kegs, furniture, etc.)
  • Strong hospitality experience in a fast paced environment
  • Must possess a current Pro-serve status
  • Leadership skills
  • Team player with a positive Attitude
  • Strong Beer Culture Knowledge
  • Trustworthy
