Salary: $21.81

SLCS is currently seeking a Part Time Residential Case Worker at MLA Centre. As a member of this
interdisciplinary team, you will provide assessment, crisis intervention, discharge planning and support
services as needed. You will be expected to assess clients' skills and needs, particularly in regard to
their mental health and addiction related issues, in addition to advocacy for and with clients involved in
the criminal justice system. This role will also focus on establishing and building client relationships in the
case management process. You will liaise with other services i.e. Probation/Parole officers, clinical
support, courts to coordinate care for clients, etc.


In addition to these elements of the position, you will be responsible for the safety and security of the
clients and other staff during your shift. You have the ability to work within grey areas while providing
supports from a trauma-informed and strengths-based lens. You are able, and comfortable, to de-escalate
in crisis situations, and have some experience with the unpredictable nature of working with
individuals with mental health and addictions. You will also be able to work collaboratively with other team
members to complete administrative functions.


You will be skilled at working with clients from diverse populations; contributing to program development.

This position works a specific 4 week rotation of the following dates:

Week 1

Tuesday - 12pm - 10pm

Wednesday - 6pm - 9:30pm

Thursday - 6pm - 9:30pm

Saturday - 5:30pm - 8:30pm

Week 2

Sunday - 6pm - 9:30pm

Monday - 4pm - 9:30pm

Thursday - 8am - 6pm

Week 3

Monday - 4pm - 9:30pm

Tuesday 12pm - 10pm

Saturday - 5:30pm - 8:30pm

Week 4

Sunday - 6pm - 9:30pm

Monday - 4pm - 9:30pm

Thursday - 8am - 6pm


Required Qualifications


• University Degree or 2-3-year College Diploma or working towards your degree
• Standard First Aid + CPR - Level C
• Valid G class Driver's License
• Candidates who are proficient in both official languages of Canada will be considered an asset
