THE ROLE

STRIVE Recruitment have partnered with one of Vancouver's leading Real Estate Developers as they look to hire a Junior Accountant. The client has a significant and diverse real estate portfolio that includes commercial and residential properties. This is a fantastic time to be joining their high-performing team as they have some amazing, large-scale developments in the pipeline.

The Junior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the client's projects, assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level accounting professional to gain valuable experience in the real estate industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform bank reconciliations and assist in cash management duties.
  • Review Aged AR and AP reports.
  • Reconcile key GL account balances such as intercompany, investments, revenue, and debt.
  • Monitor clearing accounts such as suspense, sales tax receivables, sales A/R, and A/P payroll.
  • Support A/P team with monthly payables cycle.
  • Assist with preparation of partnership reporting.
  • Maintain supporting records for transactions within key partnerships.
  • Respond to inquiries from the Controller and Management regarding special reporting requests.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process.
  • Assists in establishing and implementing business process improvements and documentation.
  • Participating in various Finance/Accounting Department initiatives and special projects.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or other relevant field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with full-cycle accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
