Position Overview for a Sr. Collections Officer:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Collection Officer to join our dynamic team. The Senior Collection Officer will be responsible for overseeing the collection activities, managing a portfolio of delinquent accounts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. Your required availability would be Monday-Friday 7am-8pm and at least two Saturday's from 9am-1pm. This is an in-office position.

Responsibilities for a Sr. Collections Officer:

  • Manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts and implement collection strategies to maximize recovery.
  • Review and analyze account information to determine appropriate collection actions.
  • Communicate with customers to negotiate payment arrangements and resolve disputes.
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to handle escalated cases and legal proceedings.
  • Monitor and report on collection activities, performance metrics, and trends.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior collection officers.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to optimize collection processes and systems.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices in collections.
  • Complete other collection responsibilities, as assigned

Qualifications for a Sr. Collections Officer:

  • Ability to work in office.
  • Ability to read, speak and write in French is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in collections or related financial services roles.
  • Strong knowledge of collection laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with Financial & Loan Management Software
  • Proficiency in MS 365 (Office, Excel, Word & Teams)
