SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeper for a large exceptional private residence in Burnaby, British Columbia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the home, alongside managing the household maintenance schedule, including coordination with service professionals such as gardeners, plumbers, electricians, and car service technicians. Additionally, this role involves the general daily care of a small pet dog, including feeding and occasional walking. This position will start as a part-time role, requiring work 3 days a week, with the intention to transition into a full-time position in December 2024.
Responsibilities but not limited to:
  • Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing to ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.
  • Organize and manage the household maintenance schedule, including but not limited to arranging and overseeing appointments with gardeners, plumbers, electricians, and car service technicians.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication with household members regarding scheduling and completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Provide general daily care for the family's small pet dog, including feeding, walking, and ensuring the pet's overall well-being.
  • Manage laundry and ironing activities, ensuring clothes and linens are clean and cared for.
  • Organize closets, ensuring efficient space utilization and accessibility; pack and unpack suitcases for family travel.
  • Maintain a stocked, organized, and clean kitchen area, including dishwashing and the occasional preparation of simple meals, if required.
  • Assist in the organization of special events and gatherings at the residence, including setup and cleanup.
  • Oversee the care and presentation of household flowers and plants, including arrangement and regular maintenance.
  • Handle delicate items with care and use appropriate cleaning solutions for different surfaces and materials.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Housekeeper in a luxury hotel, private residence or similar environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and standards.
  • Time management and multitasking abilities to manage cleaning and maintenance schedules efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and commitment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with family members, guests, and service professionals.
  • Experience and comfort in handling and caring for pets, specifically small dogs.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and tasks as required.
  • Must have a valid driver's licence.

Work Hours & Benefits
  • Part-time position requiring work 3 days a week, with flexibility needed for occasional extra days or events. Transition to full-time employment expected in December 2024.
