About the Role

Are you looking for your next opportunity in the insurance industry? MutualONE is looking for a Junior Multi-Line Underwriter to join our team. Reporting to the Underwriting Manager, you will be accountable for underwriting property and auto risks, within approved guidelines.

Desired Competencies

To join our team, you will ideally:

• Possess post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience
• Willingness to pursue the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
• Have a minimum of 2 years of underwriting experience
• Preferably have exposure or basic knowledge in farm and commercial underwriting
• Develop positive relationships with agents, brokers, and other external stakeholders
• Maintain organizational skills with attention to detail
• Demonstrate the ability to contribute to and collaborate within a team environment
• Exhibit proficiency in computer skills with a willingness to learn new applications as needed
• Successful candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive background check

Responsibilities

• Underwrite policies across various lines of business (farm, auto, commercial, and residential)
• Participate in risk assessments, rating, and negotiating terms for different types of risks
• Utilize technical knowledge and learn from experience in underwriting, rating, and documentation
• Uphold service standards and promptly handle quotes, new business, endorsements, and policy renewals
• Offer input to management regarding underwriting rules and guidelines
• Receive mentorship and training from senior team members
• Maintain well-documented electronic files on the claims system
• Collaborate with industry partners
• Perform other assigned duties
