Job Summary

We are looking for a full-time Senior BIM Technician to join our dynamic Vancouver based team. Under the Senior Engineering team's direction, our ideal candidate possesses a thorough understanding of structural drawings and is passionate about leading projects, mentoring junior technicians, and working collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing structural design drawings and 3D models based on project requirements and WHM standards.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and quality of models and drawings produced by the team.
  • Providing guidance and support to junior technicians, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Staying current with the latest BIM software and technologies and helping the team adapt to new tools and workflows.
  • Ensuring that BIM models and drawings adhere to industry standards and best practices.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of BIM processes, standards, and project-specific information.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues related to BIM modelling and coordination.
  • Effectively communicating with team members and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are understood and met.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient with Revit Structure and AutoCAD (2020)
  • Experience creating complex 3D models, developing parametric families, and using advanced BIM features for analysis and coordination.
  • Deep understanding of building construction, structural materials, hardware, and processes.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and self-directed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Ability to assess information and to draw sound conclusions that show judgement, intelligence and commonsense.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to guide and support junior technicians and coordinate with other team members.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with other team members and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest trends and developments in BIM technology and best practices.

Required Training & Experience

  • Drafting Technician Certification or equivalent (in Canada)
  • Minimum 7 years of Canadian experience in a structural drafting position

Base Salary

The estimated salary for this role is $85,000-105,000, and will be based on experience.
