Your mission, should you decide to accept it.

As the Communications Specialist (6/12 - month Contract), you are the loudest champion of our brand in every environment. You help drive the continued growth and development of our reputation through a wide variety of external and internal communications initiatives in collaboration with the Marketing team. You will be championing our employer branding goals and initiatives through partnering with local media outlets, educational institutions, and company recognition initiatives. You will own all internal communication and be the voice for marketing across all internal channels. You will be responsible for the development and execution of an effective communication strategy for ScalePad with the support of Leadership and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Marketing Leadership to develop and execute a ScalePad PR and Reputation strategy.
  • Employer awards - source and coordinate responses and submissions for corporate and employer awards such as Great Place to Work, Deloitte Best Managed, etc.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with journalists, media channels, and key stakeholders.
  • Design plan for media announcements including writing, coordinating content, and approval of press releases.
  • Manage media inquiries and arrange interviews, statements, etc.
  • Work with appropriate stakeholders to monitor external channels for mentions, feedback, and any concerns/disputes.
  • Serve as a facilitator and provide solutions for peaceful resolution of disputes.
  • Manage 3rd party review sites (e.g. G2, Capterra, etc.), including review solicitation programs, content updates/optimization, and programs.
  • Coordinate, source, and distribute employee gifts and giveaways (swag)
  • Coordinate external and internal communications flow.
  • Ensure external PR and media channel messaging aligns with the ScalePad brand strategy and adheres to the company's style guide.
  • Work with key internal role-players to brainstorm ideas related to brand and reputation expansion and management, in line with the company's strategy.
  • Evaluate and report the results of communication campaigns/programs, PR initiatives, and other reputation metrics with the marketing leadership team.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in PR, media relations, and/or marketing communications for 2-4 years.
  • Degree in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, or similar relevant field.
  • Experience and knowledge in copywriting, proofreading, and editing, specifically creating press releases and other media release materials.
  • Experience building media and market channel relationships supporting an earned media strategy.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with crisis communications and/or facilitating communications to customer experience concerns.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience in SaaS a plus.
  • A portfolio of work available for review.
