The Role
We currently have an opening for Heavy Duty Mechanics with shovel experience for a ongoing outage work at Syncrude.
Details:
3 HDM's for day shift
3 HDM's for night shift
*We will also consider a Millwright with shovel experience. We will also accept 3rd of 4th year apprentices.

Compensation/Benefits
- CLAC rate: $55.50/hr, time and a half after 8 hours per day
- CLAC DSP $125.00/hr
- Health and Wellness Plan, RRSP, Training
- Camp
- Completion of preventative maintenance and servicing - Engine oil changes and oil sampling, track adjusting, lube & mechanical servicing.
- Completion of varying component change out, diagnosing and repairs.
- G.E.T work. Replacing ripper tips, ripper shanks, bucket teeth, inspecting cutting edges and reporting, measuring ice lugs and reporting.
- Completion of LOTO, participation in tool boxes and ensuring the FLRA is completed at the beginning of every job and work is completed safely.
- Complete equipment maintenance in line with OCL, client and industry standards, procedures, and practices.
- Independent work environment, without direct supervision.
- Ensure goals are met and communicate progress to supervisor.
- Journey-Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic/Inter-provincial Red Seal Certification
- Must have a JM HET Off Road Ticket.
- Must have shovel experience.
- Experience working on Caterpillar equipment and Caterpillar service information systems.
- Previous side boom, shovel and pipeline equipment repair experience.
- Experience both in-field and in shop an asset.
- Possess and licence and have a clean driver's abstract.
- One of CSTS/OSSA or BSO/CSO.
- Confined Space, AWP, Fall Protection are required.
- Crane and Rigging experience and training is an asset.
- Great attitude towards health and safety.
- Strong and independent work ethic.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
