Job Summary

Help us bring our events to life! If you're a sports enthusiast and a natural born creator, this is the perfect role for you. We're looking for a creative individual who loves to build engaging content through social media platforms during our live recreational sports events. As our on-site Content Creator, you will be responsible for developing and producing trendy content during our sporting events that align with our brand style, tone of voice & values. This content will aim to encapsulate the thrill of our live events, and must be valuable, engaging and compelling. This is an exciting opportunity to join the world leaders in hockey tournaments, working closely with the energetic, experienced, and dynamic team that make our best-in-class hockey events a reality, and empower you to make real impact digitally through our content strategy. Deploy our content to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, and learn the best practices of social listening, tagg, liking and commenting. Learn engagement strategies, and create diverse content, engaging with our participants, spectators, partners and staff. Get involved in the creative process: Brainstorm ideas, help develop guidelines and best practices, and more!

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supporting our tournament brand content creation in real time while attending each event with the overall objective of driving customer advocacy, increasing follower engagement, and growing our social media communities.
  • Assist with the planning of tournament content calendars and provide executional support for social media marketing of relevant content creation in real-time that is customized for each event using a variety of mediums including reels, imagery, short videos, carousels, and stories.
  • Collaborate with our Marketing, Tournament + League teams to promote the player experience through scheduling posts and on-site content creation such as:
  • Tournament player interviews
  • Live streaming of events on relevant platform
  • Brainstorming on how to entice user-generated content.
  • Social listening: searching locations, hashtags, and posts pertaining to, or strategically aligned with the events; engaging, following, and reposting content.
  • Onboarding includes introduction to Canlan Sports brand, how to write for our social media posts across platforms successful completion of brand training with Marketing Team and full adherence to Canlan Sports Brand Standards and Brand Tone of Voice
  • Assist with the development of content creation guidelines and best practices for posting cadence for our tournament and league brands (CCT and YHL)
  • Assist with preparing analytic reports of campaign performance across various social media platforms.
  • Proofread marketing assets to ensure accuracy and alignment to brand messaging.
  • Travel is required to attend local tournaments and events.
Abilities, Attributes & Experience
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings & weekends).
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with communities to ensure authentic and engaging content.
  • High proficiency and interest in social media with a strong familiarity with the major social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
  • Ability to create content utilizing organic video editing tools within unique social platforms (Instagram Reels, TikTok, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of digital marketing
  • Ability to create fun and exciting live content.
  • Demonstrated ability to be both creative and efficient in creating social media content.
  • Good understanding of how brand messaging works and the ability to adapt this into multiple content formats.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with strong multitasking skills
  • Good communication skills (verbal & written) and high attention to detail.
