POSITION SUMMARY:

In support of CMHA's strategic directions, the incumbent provides leadership, support and direction in the development, implementation and administration for the areas of human resources operations; talent management; diversity and inclusion; and health, wellness and safety of staff, volunteers, students and clients. The incumbent will work with all directors and managers to support teams in delivering the best possible work experience for staff. This position will also create and implement changes while setting standards for Human Resources and Talent Management within funding parameters and legislative guidelines.

Hours of Work:

Thirty-Five (35) hour work week. The agency's hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Flexible hours are required to meet service needs.

Compensation includes a competitive and comprehensive Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), vacation and sick leave package.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: A degree in Business or related discipline or an equivalent of education and experience. A CHRL designation is required.

Experience: Seven (7) years recent and relevant experience in a human resources management position working in a unionized environment. Experience working in healthcare and a not-for-profit organization would be considered an asset.

Language: Bilingualism at the Advanced Level of French is considered an asset.

Knowledge & Skills: Demonstrated managerial skills, analytical, problem solving and planning skills. Demonstrated supervisory, human relations and organizational skills. Demonstrated labour relations experience including negotiations of Collective Agreements, grievance management, etc. General knowledge of accounting practices to manage department budget. Report writing and presentation skills are required computer skills with a variety of software programs are essential.

Abilities: Communication-written and oral, planning, leadership, interpersonal, negotiating, directing, motivation, organizing, decision making.
