Key ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Be Doing
Web Development

• Optimizing our website for exceptional user experience and responsiveness.
• Implementing and maintaining an established brand design system for a unified, consistent, and professional website that meets web accessibility (AODA) requirements.
• Recommending, designing and developing front end web page content, user interface components, static website projects and layouts, leveraging your UX expertise to best suit content and user needs.
• Managing and configuring the website's content management system.
• Developing and maintaining sitemaps and content inventories.
• Monitoring and maintaining website analytics integration on the website (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics).
• Overseeing and directing the work of freelance web developers to complete frontend web development projects.

Digital Content Development

• Transforming graphic design pieces into animations for social and web content.
• Managing video conversion and uploading finished pieces to YouTube and other social media platforms.
• Supporting video and audio recordings on location as needed.

Skills, Knowledge & ExpertiseWeb Development

• 4+ years of work experience in frontend web development.
• Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a related field of study. Practical work experience and completion of recognized workshops in web development and UX design will also be considered.
• Strong coding skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (with intermediate to advanced knowledge for enhancing user interface interactions).
• Experience with the Bootstrap framework, including SASS customization.
• Strong knowledge and application of responsive, mobile-friendly development and design.
• Thorough knowledge of web accessibility (AODA) standards and user interface design principles to optimize the user experience journey.
• Knowledge of administrating Microsoft web server environments (IIS and SQL Server) through a Remote Desktop connection.
• Experience with industry leading content management systems (administration, installation, and developer integration). Experience with Kentico CMS is an asset.
• Experience with the Node.js environment: package installation and management, Git, command line operations, and web build tools.
• Knowledge of one or more Node-based web development frameworks (such as Astro, Next.js, Gatsby, SvelteKit, Nuxt, Hugo, etc.) involving routing, TypeScript based templating/layout, and UI component development. Experience with Astro is an asset.
• Solid understanding of search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), HTML metatags, Schema metadata, and sitemap management.

Graphic Design/User Interface Design for Web

• Proficiency with graphic design as it relates to the web, with experience implementing a complete web design system (colour themes, typography, standardized layout, and optimized graphic elements).
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, and Illustrator for web design.
• Proficiency in transforming a variety of written content and graphic assets into functional web layouts and user interfaces.
• Strong knowledge of user interface design and user experience principles/strategies to optimize the user experience journey for web content.
• Proficiency with video editing and graphic motion design using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
