Summary:

Working within our Valves group, this position assists with attracting potential customers while maintaining existing relationships by answering product/service questions, and suggesting information about other products/services. This role will assist with project bids and tracking. Opening and maintaining customer accounts by recording account information. Resolving product or service problems by clarifying the customer's issues, determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem, expediting correction or adjustments and following up to ensure resolution. Inside Sales Representatives may recommend potential products or services to management by collecting customer information and analyzing customer needs. Will prepare product and/or service reports by collecting and analyzing customer information. Must be quality focused, a problem solver, have excellent telephone and documentation skills, with the ability to resolve conflict and analyze information. The successful candidate must be a good multi-tasker with a high attention to detail.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Answer inquiries from customers via phone and email
  • Submit quotations and completing follow calls as required
  • Send requests for modification of stock inventory to pre-approved vendors as necessary
  • Source and purchase non-stock items to meet customer order needs
  • Compile data to complete project bids
  • Enter accepted orders into Business Central
  • Work with the Sales team to ensure fluid communication and handoffs on any pending items
  • Meet with customers on occasion to assist in fostering the business relationship
  • Generate reports upon requests
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings and Forum's HSE program.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of customer service techniques in an industrial setting
  • Familiar with order entry software and processes
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Excel knowledge an asset
  • Able to change task or direction while maintaining organization
  • Good organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy a necessity
  • Analytical thinker and problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or related industry job experience.

Experience

  • 4+ years of inside sales experience in a related industry
  • Valve knowledge and/or experience considered an asset.
